ABOUT
Book Artist, journalist and paper collector

A veteran of the print media landscape, Tung Kit spent years working across newspapers and magazines, nurtured by a deep-seated devotion to literature.

In 2015, he turned his attention to book restoration, a pursuit that soon evolved into a rigorous specialization in the book arts. A regular participant in international book arts challenges, he presents his work on the global stage under the moniker "themanmadebooks."

For Tung, the book functions as a singular medium for artistic expression. He maintains that the tactile, artisanal nature of bookcraft occupies a position in the trajectory of human civilization that is commensurate with the rapid ascent of artificial intelligence.

In recent years, his practice has increasingly synthesized diverse artistic disciplines, anchoring itself in the ethos of traditional handcraft as both a compass and a guiding principle.
